The Art of Remembering
Art Bank lobby area
Every year is an important year to honour veterans and their service. The year 2005 is especially meaningful because it marks the 60th anniversary of the end of the Second World War.
We have made a small selection of art works from the Art Bank collection that show the artists' impressions of wartime. Some of the artists included in this selection, like Herb Ariss who is a war veteran, express their personal experiences in their work. Others, like Frances Dorsey, the daughter of a WWII soldier, explore their responses to the stories of those that experienced them first hand.
We hope that through these art works, we can reflect on the contributions and sacrifices of our veterans.
