Art in the Park
On Wednesday, June 5, the Ottawa Sculpture Trail, with the support of the New Edinburgh Community Association, unveiled "Far Shore", a steel sculpture by Saskatchewan artist Douglas Bentham, in Stanley Park. "Far Shore" was selected by the community from the Art Bank collection. "The intent," says Colin Goodfellow, Chairman of the Ottawa Sculpture Trail, "is to bring local communities closer to public art." The longterm vision of the Ottawa Sculpture Trail is to install public sculpture along the Rideau River from the Rideau Falls to Hogs Back. The Art Bank thinks the idea is brilliant!
