Recognizing Excellence
The staff at the Art Bank can hardly believe that five years have passed since Victoria Henry became our Director. This bulletin is dedicated to recognizing and celebrating Victoria’s accomplishments within such a short period of time.
The most-notable, and arguably the most important achievement, has been to oversee the transition from a publicly funded organization to a successful self-sufficient business. With revenues increasing steadily each year for the past five years, the Art Bank has been able to purchase art work from our revenue surplus for the last three years.
Victoria has used every opportunity to increase the Art Bank’s visibility and profile, which has contributed to our success. By ensuring media coverage of Art Bank events, placing advertising information on our trucks, revising our website, creating eye-catching brochures and supporting travel to major cities across Canada, Victoria has secured a national reputation for the Art Bank as the leading art leasing service in Canada.
While Victoria maintains a client-centred focus for the Art Bank, she also keeps the artists represented in the collection apprised of activities that affect them by means of regular correspondence. In the best interest of the artists, she has also had the entire Art Bank collection appraised to reflect its current fair-market-value and is working on updating the biographical information for each artist represented.
With all the ongoing projects that Victoria is working on, you might think that she doesn’t have time to help others. If doubtful, you can come out to the Ottawa Dragon Boat Race Festival June 26 and 27 at Mooney’s Bay to see Victoria lead the Art Bank Team in one of Ottawa’s biggest fundraisers for charity.
